Band Called Catch, Blane Fonda, and Bamboo Shoots at Bottom Lounge
Blane Fonda is an uneven band. That isn’t a dig at all, but during some parts of some songs, frontman Mark Wetzel seems to be channeling cranky British singer-songwriter Morrissey, and during others a watered-down version of At The Drive-In’s Cedric Bixler-Zavala. The music is similarly elastic, morphing from indie-punk to something that borders on disco-rock. Basically though, Blane Fonda plays like the seasoned band it is--most of its members were in Sapiens from 2005 until 2009.
