It's about time zines get the respect they deserve in the increasingly digital age. This Friday and Saturday, Quimby's and Columbia College's Conaway Center, respectively, showcase the work of small press and independent publishers alike. Publications will be exhibited and workshops will be held on a variety of aspects of self-publishing, and it's completely free to the public—true to the spirit of zines' inclusive nature. There's a veritable cornucopia of zinesters slated to appear, but the festivities kick off with a screening from the Gadabout Film Festival and big-name self-publishers like John Porcellino and Jeffrey Brown.
