CIMM: Paul Stanley: One Live Kiss at Lincoln Hall
After 28 years without a solo album, Kiss guitarist Paul Stanley released Live To Win in 2006, prompting "The Starchild" to hit the road for a rare solo tour, during which 2008's One Live Kiss was filmed at the Chicago House Of Blues. The concert film captures Stanley plowing through plenty of Kiss classics ("Lick It Up," "Love Gun," "Detroit Rock City") and solo tracks while strutting around stage and baring most of his chest. (Without his makeup, it's hard to distinguish him from Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry.) Kiss fans will eat up the chance to see one of their heroes not have to share the spotlight with the tongue-wagging Simmons and random fireballs, while glam-rock purists will cling to the unapologetically chunky guitar riffs.
