http://www.ticketfly.com/tickets/venue-details/?tfly_org_id=147 Dave Rawlings Machine, Gillian Welch, and Redgrave at Abbey Pub

Dave Rawlings has mostly used his guitar, singing, songwriting and producing talents as an enabler for awesome and twangy things, as Gillian Welch's longtime right-hand man and producer for string-band revivalists Old Crow Medicine Show (not to mention his contributions to Ryan Adams and Bright Eyes). His band Dave Rawlings Machine brings Rawlings' high, sharp vocals to the front and allows him to cash in on many returned favors. The Machine's debut, Friend Of A Friend, features some co-writing credits from Adams, Conor Oberst, and plenty of contributions from Welch. Still, it holds up as an actual solo debut: "I Hear Them All" recasts one of Old Crow Medicine Show's best songs (which Rawlings co-wrote and produced) as a sparse meditation.
