Deadmau5, a.k.a. Joel Zimmerman, is a budding dance-music star who hails from Canada and wears a big red mouse mask. His name figures prominently in lots of dance-music magazines and rolls off the tongues of progressive-house DJs like Tiësto and Armin van Buuren, who started taking to Deadmau5’s momentous tech-y house production when his track “Faxing Berlin” caught fire on Pete Tong’s radio show. And then there’s the mask, which is like some oversized hallucination out of Japanese anime.
