Joe Meno, The Astronomer, and Canasta at Old Town School of Folk Music - Maurer Hall
Local punk novelist/playwright Joe Meno has set the bar high for himself with impressively inventive books like 2004's suburban punk story Hairstyles Of The Damned and 2006's tale of a former child sleuth, The Boy Detective Fails. Those high expectations are what make his newest, The Great Perhaps, so intriguing. This reading will be scored with new songs by literary space-folk outfit The Astronomer, while esteemed poster artist Jay Ryan and photographer Todd Baxter will project visual art inspired by Meno's work. It will be a thoroughly multimedia evening, one perfectly suited to the Old Town School's church-like performance space.
