Although Saturday Night Live has gotten easier to discredit and ignore—yes, including that Betty White episode—the release of MacGruber signals the late-night sketch show still considers itself a viable source of feature films, whether or not audiences and critics agree. This Just For Laughs staged reading of Da Bears Movie Dat Wasn't will once again put that to the test, going all the way back to SNL's '90s heyday to revisit a never-produced "Super Fans" screenplay co-written by Bob Odenkirk and Robert Smigel. Smigel and Odenkirk—joined by Joe Mantegna, Richard Roeper, George Wendt, Horatio Sanz, and Mike Ditka—will read roughly half of the would-be movie's script, which means audiences will get just a peek into what would happen if Soldier Field was converted into a giant museum with all-luxury boxes for the rich.
