Despite Margot And The Nuclear So And So’s stage-crowding pile of keys, horns, strings, and harmonies, leader Richard Edwards’ songs would just as soon turn inward, budding from melancholic tales that come off as part-earnest, part-fantasy. The Indianapolis band signed to Epic for last year’s Animal!, which has since been split into two releases: Animal! (the band’s preferred version) and Not Animal (the record label’s version).
