The trail of defeat is a long and steady one for comedic mutant Neil Hamburger, an old-fashioned, washed-up nightclub stand-up stricken with 21st-century cynicism, vulgarity, celebrity obsession, a nasty cough, and the greasiest hairline this side of a pomade convention. As Hamburger spills an armload of drinks on his un-laundered tuxedo, he'll cringe his way through literally hundreds of tawdry jokes on such subject matter as Madonna, Domino's Pizza, and (new for his current tour) Michael Jackson. He's taken a couple of breaks from being heckled between punch lines to record 2008's novelty album Neil Hamburger Sings Country Winners, and recently followed it with the Western Music & Variety DVD.
