Danish band The Raveonettes raised eyebrows with a debut EP made with some bizarre rules: All songs were written in B-flat minor, and no drum tracks used ride cymbals. The result was a brooding, oddly tuneful set that hinted at garage rock while smearing its gears with go-go grease. That record’s successor, Chain Gang Of Love, switched the key to B-flat major, but all the rules went out the window for everything after, including last year’s charged Lust Lust Lust, which finds The Raveonettes nuzzling ever closer to The Jesus & Mary Chain.
