Richard “Dick” Cheese burst onto the music scene in 2000 by converting songs such as Nirvana’s “Rape Me” into traditional pop vocal standards and has continued with the same shtick ever since, racking up several more albums (including the new Viva La Vodka, currently only available to fan club members) of humorously defanged pop, rock, and rap hits. After selling out numerous shows, landing interviews on CNN and Howard Stern, and popping up with his own category on VH1’s Rock & Roll Jeopardy, Cheese has decided to retire, supposedly because of, in part, vocal-chord problems. But, ever the showman, Cheese is leading his Lounge Against The Machine band on this “Martini Hero” farewell tour.
