Rob Zombie, Captain Clegg And The Night Creatures, and Nekromantix at Aragon Ballroom

A metalhead who’s managed to transform himself into something of a media wunderkind, Rob Zombie took White Zombie from underground metal to cartoonish horror-rock, becoming hugely popular in the process. Zombie’s solo records haven’t been as well-received, but he made fans of a different sort with House Of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects, a pair of bizarro-horror movies that supporters hailed as visionary. Hoping to recapture that "Thunder Kiss '65"-in-a-bottle, Zombie will release Hellbilly Deluxe 2 later this month; the return to overdrive and B-movie soundtrack samples was prefaced by the release of the animated "X-Rated Scooby-Doo,The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto. Zombie's recent Halloween II introduced the world to Captain Clegg And The Night Creatures, a fictional psychobilly band fronted by real-life Jesse Dayton, which opens here along with long-running musical gravediggers Nekromantix.
