Cover bands rarely boast much in the way of singular inspiration, but The Detroit Cobras’ parrotings are more invigorating than most. Drawing from a deep well of old rock and R&B, the group has bridged Motown with garage rock through the course of four albums, most recently 2007’s Tied And True. Lead singer Rachel Nagy’s raw fury steals the stage as she darts through covers of Otis Redding, Jackie DeShannon, Solomon Burke, and Ike and Tina Turner.
