Sister Hazel’s brief flirtation with success in the mid-’90s didn’t go far beyond a couple of harmony-rich alt-rock singles. Since then, the Florida band has been content to reside in relative obscurity, with its fans (the endearingly named “Hazelnuts”) providing moral support. Sister Hazel’s last new studio record was 2006’s Absolutely, a glossy collection of earnest, rootsy rock featuring ’80s schlock-master Richard Marx on “Meet Me In The Memory,” but since then it’s also done the live-acoustic thing with 2009’s Before The Amplifiers—not to mention the holiday-album grind with Santa’s Playlist.
