Supersuckers' blend of country, punk, and good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll has served it well for two decades, and the group is showing no signs of slowing down. Putting out a steady stream of albums—the latest of which is last year's Get It Together—combined with near-constant touring has spread the Seattle band's amped-up raunchiness like venereal warts in a brothel. Supersuckers have recorded with both Steve Earle and Willie Nelson, but as their numerous live releases suggest, they're at their best onstage. Hearing Supersuckers' philosophy on the track "Rock Your Ass"—"Grab a drink and chug-a-lug / have some sex and take some drugs"—is amusing on record, but life-altering at ear-piercing volume after a couple of beers.
