Chicago's metal scene has been blazing lately, producing the instrumental prowess of Pelican, the tech-death slipperiness of Born Of Osiris, and the twisted black metal of Nachtmystium, among others. Another band to watch out for is Oceano, which reps the suburban deathcore scene with flying colors. Mixing just enough thrash elements into its attack to keep things interesting, and looking impressive with hulking vocalist Adam Warren up front, Oceano's powerhouse sound and rep for wild live shows set it apart from an often indistinguishable metalcore scene.
