The Chopping Block is the city's biggest, baddest cooking school for those dabbling in cooking or vying to be the next underdog candidate on Top Chef. Classes range in focus from how to create a Mexican fiesta or the perfect a penne dish to more technical ventures like knife skills. In demonstration classes, students stand back, observe the chef, and taste some of the final product; Hands-on classes are more interactive, encouraging participants to cut, slice, and mix alongside an instructor. After dicing and spicing, students chow down on their freshly prepared meal. The school also offers a 10 percent discount on wine purchases in its store.
