Jason Heller

Descended from a long line of truck drivers, waitresses, and convicts, Jason Heller (city editor, Denver/Boulder) is a dropout of both high school and college who spent years contributing words and comics to 'zines like Roctober, The Hooligan, and Skyscraper. Resigning himself to the purgatory of music retail and dead-end bands, he somehow landed a fulltime freelance job ranting about music for the New Times chain, which in turn deposited him on the doorstep of The A.V. Club. He believes that J.G. Ballard is a prophet; that Born Against should get back together, like, now; and that the ironic appreciation of irony is dead.
