The "friendly" rivalry that's been building between rappers 50 Cent and Kanye West as of late--fueled by the fact that both artists' new albums will drop on September 11--finally reached ludicrous speed with today's announcement that the two have been invited to square off for a live, presidential-style debate to decide who has the best album on BET's 106 And Park. While accepting the challenge, 50 Cent added, "Just don't be asking me if I am a conscious rapper. I know exactly what I am saying--so I am conscious." (Wait, didn't Descartes say that?) If this works out, can we start setting up debates like this between all musicians and filmmakers? That way us critic-types would be free to spend all our time playing Guitar Hero and spending our Simpsons Movie payola.
