Sorry to everyone who wanted Newswire to jump on these rumors earlier: Larry Wachowski, half of the Wachowski Brothers writing-directing team, is apparently still a man. Yesterday, this blog reported that Larry had completed gender reassignment surgery and was now known as Lana. Not so, says Fox reporter Roger Friedman, who called the set of the Wachowski’s upcoming Speed Racer to get confirmation of the rumor—and was answered mostly with laughter. No word from Lanarry about the whole mess—the Wachowskis are infamously media-shy—and neither has s/he told us why s/he had to go and fuck up the ending of V For Vendetta.
