Also known as: The Widow's Revenge, Crazed (2005 DVD title)
Plot: Two words describe Hollywood denizen Leslie Caron in Nicole: bored and horny. How bored? In one scene, she aims a camera at a television, taking pictures as she flips through channels. How horny? After spotting a burly car salesman (Bruce Graziano) during one of her photo sessions, she tracks him down and demonstrates that she hasn't lost her flexibility in the years since An American In Paris. But it isn't just car salesmen who catch her eye. Befriending fresh-faced California newbie Catherine Bach (a few years before Daisy Duke immortality), she buys her a house, pays for some plastic surgery, and starts taking her to fancy California parties. And bedding her, possibly. Writer-director István Ventilla takes an approach to storytelling that can politely be called "psychedelic."
Key scenes: When Caron visits Bach's tiny apartment, she offers disapproving comments on everything from Bach's collection of toy horses to her lunar map. ("What is this picture of the moon? Are you a moon freak?") Later, as Bach recovers from a nose job, Caron plants a tender kiss on her lips. But Caron's altruistic streak soon reveals a dark side that her singing-and-dancing past never suggested. (Unless the original cut of her starring vehicle Gigi included a murderous valet and a bloodthirsty Great Dane.)
Can easily be distinguished by: As Troma's oh-so-tasteful DVD packaging points out, it's the only film in which Bach appears nude. So if you're looking at a naked Daisy Duke, you're watching Nicole.
Sign that it was made in the early '70s: Nicole takes place in a land filled with no-good hippies, including a naked couple who flee a fancy houseboat when they hear Caron and her friends approaching.
Timeless message: Thank heaven that little girls don't all grow up in the most frightful ways.
Memorable quotes: Caron to Graziano after she suggests a three-way with Bach, then points out that she'd be unhappy were Graziano to bed Bach alone: "I would keel you! Ha ha ha! I would keel you! Ha ha ha!"
