Ever wonder which superheroes are Methodist? Or Catholic? Or Jewish?

No? Well, why would you, really. Unless you're updating your hit Hanukkah Song (Hi, Adam. Click looks like sooo much fun! I'm taking the kids!).

I mean, who wonders about the faiths of superheroes?

Well, someone out there wondered about it, a lot. And put up a website all about the various religious affiliations of comic book characters that is extremely thorough in its explanations. Dazzlingly thorough, really. The analyses go on for pages, and they are some of the funniest things I've ever read.

Wonder Woman practices the Greco-Roman Classical religion:

Wonder Woman could be said to be a "pagan" in the word's contemporary religious sense, although this does not appear to be a word she regularly applies to herself. Religious ritual and worship of the Greek gods is explicitly a part of the Amazon culture where Princess Diana (Wonder Woman) was raised.

Superman is a Methodist/Kryptonian:

It should be emphasized that the classification of the "Superman" character as a Methodist is in no way based on the fact that actor Brandon Routh, who played Superman in the 2006 feature film, is a Methodist. This is simply an irrelevant coincidence.

And Wolverine is a lapsed atheist/Buddhist/skeptical seeker:

Has Wolverine been an atheist? Yes, absolutely. Has he identified himself as an atheist in the past? Yes. Is he an atheist today? That is a more difficult question to answer.

Yes, that's why it takes 3 pages with countless cited examples to do so.

I'm not really that familiar with superheroes, but are there any surprises on this list? (I mean, besides the fact that it exists.)
