Each morning the Videocracy chart automatically crawls xml sources that aggregate web video. Based on blog metric date, the chart ranks them according to their link freshness and weight. These sources include YouTube, Google Video, MySpace, and other popular sites. The final chart is not necessarily the most popular, or the most frequently viewed videos but the most blogged-about and hotly discussed, clips.
Based on this raw data, we eliminate any clips appearing twice under the same name and extending beyond our 10-minute time limit, add commentary, and publish a new chart each weekday.
