Baltimore's Dangerously Delicious Pies to open D.C. location

Dangerously Delicious Pies, the winner of Baltimore City Paper's Best Pie award in 2008, is opening a new location in D.C., according to BrightestYoungThings. The shop will be working in conjunction with the folks behind such well-known D.C. venues as The Rock And Roll Hotel, The Red And The Black, DC9, and others, and will boast the same menu as its Baltimore location. That means sweet pies, like rhubarb and pecan, will sit on the menu alongside savory pies and quiches that contain meat, cheese, and vegetables.
Think about it: seeing as how pies can double as both dinner and dessert, they are ultimately more versatile than cupcakes or “fro-yo.” (And on top of that, no one has thought up a stupid nickname for them yet.) Would you want pork barbeque cupcakes, or spinach and goat cheese frozen yogurt? Didn’t think so. Though they may clog your arteries more than frozen yogurt, pies could be the next big dessert trend in D.C. We’ll find out sometime in the next few months when Dangerously Delicious Pies opens its new location on H Street.
