Weezer to perform at DC101 Festivus on Dec. 9
Say it is so! News has just tickled our ears that Rivers Cuomo and the rest of the horned-rim glasses-sporting Weezer crew will hit up the George Mason University Patriot Center next month. DC101 is hosting its blow-out Festivus event at the 10,000-person capacity arena on Dec. 9, featuring the alt-pop icons on the top of a bill that also includes L.A.’s piano-driven rock quartet Jack’s Mannequin and power-pop outfit Motion City Soundtrack.
Sure, Weezer has alienated some fans in recent years with forays into unclassifiable genres and even some eclectic emo—[ahem] recent tour with pop-punk plague Blink-182, [ahem] collaboration with The All-American Rejects on brand-new, C+ album Raditude—but we’re still holding out hope that the band will play to listeners both new and old.
Stay tuned for more details and additions to the schedule, or go ahead and pick up tickets now.
