Win tickets to the Found Footage Festival at Arlington Cinema 'N' Drafthouse
The Onion A.V. Club D.C. presents the Found Footage Festival on Saturday, November 7, at Arlington Cinema 'N' Drafthouse. If he were still alive, Marcel Duchamp would approve of this found-art-based, one-of a-kind comedy show. A McDonald’s training video called “Inside And Outside Custodial Duties” first sparked Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett’s interest in the weird videotapes hiding in Dumpsters and at garage sales. With The Found Footage Film Festival, they share their found art and tell stories about its origins in a screening of clips from discarded home movies, corporate videos, and educational tapes. Highlights have included clips from a 1983 TV travelogue featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger called "Carnival In Rio," a legendary grocery store training video, an instructional treatise on how to toilet train cats, and a safety video called "It Only Takes A Second." Enter to win a pair of tickets by emailing rsvpdc@theonion.com with "Found Footage Festival" in the subject line.
