Are you desperately clinging to a career in journalism while the newspaper industry goes up in flames? Want to work for a fast-paced news organization staffed by gruff copy editors—relics of a bygone era—who constantly bitch about the slow death of print media while simultaneously contributing to it? Tired of trying to make a living as a freelance writer, and finally coming to the realization that an extra part-time job or three is the only way you're going to make rent this month? If so, The A.V. Club is for you!

A.V. Club D.C., the local outpost of The Onion A.V. Club, is looking for a hungry editor to work in our office. The part-time position will assist the city editor with maintenance of dc.avclub.com and its print sibling. Some web experience is needed, but the job requires a detail-oriented self-starter who has a passion for the District’s arts & entertainment, food, and nightlife.

Qualified candidates will possess:
• Strong computer skills, with web publishing and website maintenance a huge plus
• Strong writing, editing/fact-checking, and organizational skills
• The ability to work well within an editorial team, but also have the initiative to be a self-starter
• Some experience, or a degree in, journalism, publishing, or a related field
• Familiarity with AP style
