A McDonald’s training video called “Inside And Outside Custodial Duties” first sparked Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett’s interest in the weird videotapes hiding in Dumpsters and at garage sales. With the Found Footage Film Festival, they share their found art and tell stories about its origins in a screening of clips from discarded home movies, corporate videos, and educational tapes. Highlights have included stilted reenactments from workplace sexual harassment videos, a legendary grocery store training video, an instructional treatise on how to toilet train cats, and a number of other videos VH1 will inevitably steal and chop out all the funny parts of for episodes of some talking-head show.
