HOLIDAY SALE AT THE ONION STORE

Just Announced AFI returns to Denver with less makeup than usual

AFI

With the release of this year's Crash Love, it seems that aesthetically speaking, AFI—which plays the Magness Arena in December—has grown up a bit. The cascading bleach blonde bangs are gone, glitter and foundation have been replaced with beard scruff, and lead singer Davey Havok is now sporting—gasp—a pompadour.  And while the black attire-only rule has now switched to a colors optional uniform, AFI is still making the same music dark, love-lost dreams are made of.

Here are this week's show announcements:

Nov. 8, Paramore (rescheduled from Oct. 4), Fillmore Auditorium

Nov. 16, Everclear, Bluebird Theater

Nov. 27, Danny Barnes, Boulder Theater

Dec. 1, Joe Purdy, Bluebird Theater

Dec. 1, 30 Seconds To Mars, Ogden Theatre

Dec. 2, Andy Henningsen, Bluebird Theater

Dec. 3, Hawthorne Heights, Hi-Dive

Dec. 6, AFI, Magness Arena

Dec. 6, Eyehategod, Marquis Theater

Dec. 7, Zero 7, Ogden Theatre

Dec. 12, Brainhammer, Hi-Dive

Dec. 13, Alesana, Marquis Theater

Dec. 31, Paper Bird, Hi-Dive

Jan. 7, The Band Of Heathens, Bluebird Theater

Jan. 10, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Bluebird Theater

Apr. 4, Tegan And Sara, Ogden Theatre

Weekly Vid Pick: Once upon a time, Davey Havok's interests included black eyeliner, petting cute bunnies, and ruling the world from his dressing table.
