Bad Weather California prepping three new releases

Bad Weather California

Denver’s Bad Weather California has been really busy in the past year, and things don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Since the group’s series of shows last May with the Portland-based experimental group Akron/Family, Akron has taken BWC under its wing, helping the band record and produce a new full-length that contains a few outtakes from the sessions with Akron—no release date yet, but it should arrive before too long. Sometime around the release of the album, the group will also be putting out a 7-inch on Fire Talk records.

Before that hits, the band is releasing a vinyl EP of B-sides and live takes, which the band has been compiling since January of last year. Like BWC’s last major release, Young Punks, this new EP will display Chris Adolf’s psychedelic songwriting, Joe Sampson’s thumping bass, Adam Baumeister’s effected pedal steel, and Logan Corcoran’s wild drumming. You can pick that one up when Bad Weather plays the EP release show April 23 at Larimer Lounge with A. Tom Collins and Shady Babes. Can’t wait that long for your next fix of Bad Weather? Catch the band tomorrow, Feb. 23, at the Mercury Café and at the Larimer Lounge on March 5
