Buy: Black & Read doesn’t believe in Record Store Day—but maybe that’s because the vinyl selection here is stellar just about every day. From old Motown 7-inches to ‘70s pyschedelia to modern punk releases, there’s a little slab of wax for everyone.

Plus 93.3 KTCL will broadcast on-site from 12 to 2 p.m.; then from 6 to 8 p.m., Indie 101.5 takes over. Get your grub on, too, with free gelato and chips and salsa.
Buy: More Radiohead releases than you need—the band, in honor of RSD, is re-releasing a series of 10-inch EPs on 180-gram vinyl.
Jerry’s Records, 312 E. Colfax Ave., 303-830-2336
See: Audiophiles in their natural habitat. Don’t fear the crates upon crates (and sometimes cardboard boxes) full of dusty records; there’s good stuff in there. Dig in and enjoy.
Buy: “We got lots of Frank Zappa and Jimi Hendrix collectibles,” says one employee.
Twist & Shout, 2508 E. Colfax Ave., 303-722-1943
See: DJs from KGNU, KUVO, and 1190 will be on the decks all day; in the evening, check out DJ A-What and a special DJ set from members of Meese. Also on the agenda: Buy a couple of books from Tattered Cover; eat some cupcakes from The Shoppe; drink beer from Great Divide; get your cat micro-chipped by the Denver Dumb Friends League; of course, too, have a little champagne and cake with the Twist employees; hang out with the crew from The Onion and Decider, who will be on hand to give out free junk and cheerlead and stuff. Whew.
Buy: Magnolia Electric Co., 7-inch, limited to 1000 copies; plus, all used LPs, CDs, and DVDs will be 20 percent off. And if you spend more than $25, take your receipt over to Chipotle around the corner for free chips and guacamole. Double-whew.
Wax Trax, 620 E. 13th Ave., 303-860-0127
See: Decades worth of band promo stuff scotch-taped (and sometimes drawn on) by employees and plastered all over the walls, on the bins, and even the ceiling. Wax Trax also will host live music starting at 2 p.m. with TaunTaun, The GetDown!, and Crack Magik.
Buy: The Thermals/Thao Nguyen, split 7-inch, limited to 1000 copies.
