Just Announced Cults will take their buzzy, monosyllabic name on a globetrotting tour this spring

It’s funny that a band with such familiar, well-trod ’60s revivalist sounds made such a mysterious splash on the Internet with the release of its break-out track “Go Outside” in 2010. The Brooklyn duo managed to remain anonymous despite the spread of its sing-along tune, that is, until, it no longer was anonymous. Last summer saw the release of the band’s solid (yet possibly underwhelming) debut, Cults, on Columbia records. But, no matter, the pair still has the shimmering appeal of Internet acceptance—and one of those monosyllabic, pluralized names that are all the rage. The duo is taking its act on the road for an extensive tour of lands north, south, east, and west—basically all of the worldly directions—this spring, with stops at the Bluebird April 12 and the Fox April 13. Word on the blogs is that Cults is also working on a rap mixtape of their debut album, featuring the likes of Lil B. How very Internet.
