Daily Agenda, Aug. 4: Skulls and Ghostbusters
Two bands, two disparate sounds, one key word: skulls. Cobra Skulls will be at 3 Kings Tavern tonight, and the Reno-based three-piece plays straightforward punk that falls right in line with (early) Against Me! and Wolves-era Rancid. Across town—and genres—Britain’s Band Of Skulls will be laying down its dreamy, vocal-heavy alt-rock at the Walnut Room. Too heady for you? Go easy on your cranium with tonight’s screening of Ghostbusters at Red Rocks. The 1984 flick is a numbskull sci-fi-lite comedy that remains ridiculously entertaining.
