Local fans of the walking, talking, observation-spewing can of human Red Bull that is Dane Cook have a brand new reason to bump fists. The Pepsi Center has confirmed a May 17 appearance by the adrenaline-addled comic, part of what the press release proudly touts as the "largest comedy tour in history." (Does that mean Ralphie May is opening? Buh-dum-bum.) Having spent the last couple of years pushing his brand at the multiplex, Cook sounds eager to re-focus his manic energy on stand-up, planning dates across North America as well as Brazil, Europe, and Africa. The downside: The long wait continues for a super-charged sequel to Good Luck Chuck. In the meantime, Cook's Isolated Incident album and TV special both are scheduled to drop in May.
