Daughtry on tour, Idol fans puke a little in their mouth
Nice soul patch, Daughtry.
Not everyone can rule as hard as Kelly Clarkson. The first American Idol champion set an unrealistic standard for the following seven seasons; pre-teens and the like never quite clung to the subsequent winners as they did to Clarkson's frosted highlights. But have no fear, ye young ones and irony-loving Idol fans: fifth-season finalist Chris Daughtry and his band named, er, Daughtry just announced a 13-date tour, including a stop August 16 at the Gothic Theatre. Can Daughtry (the man) keep Daughtry (the band) afloat in the mainstream with his bloated, adult contemporary stylings? Go torture yourself at the show to find out.
