Dave Grohl comes to Denver
Oh, and he's bringing part of Led Zeppelin with him
Silly Dave. Is he trying to tell us something?
More Just Announced
Dave Grohl is a super group within himself—he wrote, played all of the instruments, and self-recorded Foo Fighters debut album in 1995 before assembling the actual band. Since then, he’s worked with dudes from Sunny Day Real Estate, The Germs, Queens Of The Stone Age, and most recently, John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin. Them Crooked Vultures (which features Jones and Josh Homme from QOTSA)—which plays April 19 at the Fillmore Auditorium —may be Grohl’s greatest amalgamation to date, but who knows. What if his ultra-nice guy prowess and multi-instrument capability could bring Taylor Swift and Kanye West together? Stranger things have happened, like say, Tinted Windows, which features members of Smashing Pumpkins, Hanson, Fountains of Wayne, and Cheap Trick. Except that with all of those bands listed side by side, it’s easy to see why some supergroups are destined to suck from the get-go. Scratch that Swift/West/Grohl idea.
