Just Announced David Crosby, Graham Nash headline Rootsfest

Swallow Hill Music Association kicks off festival season early

David Crosby, Graham Nash, Rootsfest, Swallow Hill

Mathletes will tell you there are six different band configurations that could be formed using half of the members of Crosby, Stills, Nash, And Young. Draw up your own permutation table if you don’t believe us, or just take it on faith that one of those six combos—David Crosby and Graham Nash—is set to headline Swallow Hill Music Association’s fifth annual Rootsfest April 9 at the Paramount Theatre. As you certainly should have guessed by the festival’s name, the event showcases acoustic, folk, and other forms of Americana, but the show’s headliners aren’t chained to their acoustic guitars. Between mixing up unplugged and electric performances, Crosby and Nash also promise to showcase a handful of new songs alongside those folk-rock chestnuts fans know so well.

Swallow Hill stays true to its roots as the keystone of Denver’s Americana community, and turns to local talent to round out the bill. Husband-and-wife duo Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore blend blues and Rocky Mountain bluegrass, while Anaïs Mitchell brings homegrown singer-songwriter fare to the stage. Tickets for the festival go on sale Friday.
