Keeping in line with his unembellished bio, comedian Demetri Martin named his upcoming winter tour “Telling Jokes In Cold Places.” But for a man who describes himself as “a person” with “brown hair,” Martin presents a deceptively complex stage show that combines stand-up, music, art, and scholarly presentation with his deadpan humor. The host of the former Comedy Central series Important Things With Demetri Martin will take a break from writing books (2011’s This Is A Book) and acting (2009’s Taking Woodstock, 2011’s Contagion) to stop by the Macky Auditorium Feb. 2 with his big pad of paper. It will be cold outside and he will tell jokes.
