Flobots, Rise Against bowl off for charity

Think you and your buddies can skate into a bowling alley and out-roll The Flobots or Rise Against? Now’s the time to put up or shut up, dude. The Flobots’ second annual Bring It On Bowling Ball puts both bands—plus Tickle Me Pink and Matt Morris—onto the lanes to raise funds for Flobots.org and Fight With Tools, the Flobots’ nonprofits that promote grassroots activism in Denver and around the country. So while you’ll be comparing your average to those of Jonny 5, Brer Rabbit, and Rise Against’s Tim McIlrath, you’ll also be helping nonprofits fight for the environment or voter registration. Serious rollers, only, though: It’ll cost you a very un-Dude-like price of $1,000 to pit your four-person team against the celebrities this Saturday, Oct. 23 at Lucky Strike Lanes Belmar (415 S. Teller St., Lakewood). If that’s a little beyond your price range, $100 gets you in the door to enjoy the festivities from the sidelines while mingling with celebrities for a good cause.
