Just Announced Gauntlet Hair to tour with The Dodos

After hanging out in the Meadowlark and Rhinoceropolis and perfecting its blend of Animal Collective-indebted, bong-rip indie jams, Gauntlet Hair is still coasting on that glowing review of “I Was Thinking” on Pitchfork last spring, but it seems to be working out okay: The act’s been tapped to open for another, even more hyped indie duo, The Dodos. The trip’s set to be the band’s first tour (its crummy-venue tour with Woodsman last fall was canceled), on which it’ll possibly wither in the judgmental gaze of East Coast hipsters and, if we’re lucky, have all kinds of opportunities to whip locals into a nearly murderous frenzy by criticizing Denver’s record stores to right-coast bloggers.
