Goldrush Music Festival spotlights up-and-comers

After a summer full of too many Denver-area music festivals to count, you’re either going to be a little worn out on massive lineups and multi-day bills, or you’ll be seriously jonesing for another one come mid-September when the area’s live-music schedule returns to more modest-sized billings. If you’re the latter, three Denver-based music blogs have just the thing to help chase those end-of-festival-season blues away. Namely, another festival.

Tome To The Weather Machine, Speaker Snacks, and Magic Teepee come together to host the inaugural Goldrush Music Festival Sept. 16 and 17 at Hi-Dive and Sputnik. True to its sponsors’ love of more-or-less undiscovered sounds, the festival features 31 acts—about half of which hail from Colorado—spanning a slew of college-radio genres. Chicago’s How To Dress Well headlines, with appearances by other WordPress-favored acts such as Fort Collins’ Candy Claws and Teen Daze from Vancouver. It may be your last chance to check out these acts in a small club before they become huge. Or it could be your last chance to hear from them before the blogosphere moves on to embrace its next flavor of the month.
