Harrowing, near-death experiences at Paris Wine Bar!
Death by laughter isn’t a likely outcome of attending The Narrators, local comic Andrew Orvedahl’s free storytelling event that he hosts the first Wednesday of every month at Paris Wine Bar (1553 Platte St., 303-455-2451), but expect to hear humorous stories of near-death experiences from comedians, musicians, and creatives.
Orvedahl has invited comic Mark Lee to guest-host the themed show, which begins at 8 p.m. “Mark’s a river-rafting guide and has some great experience with this topic,” Orvedahl explains. So if Orvedahl is passing the emcee duties over, what stories will he be sharing? “It’s going to range from the make-believe bullshit in my brain to the real bullshit,” he says. “I haven’t seen any light at the end of the tunnels, but I’ve had some situations where I think, ‘Oh, I’m going to be dead after this.’”
Tonight’s storyteller lineup includes Andrew Warner from Snake Rattle Rattle Snake, comedian Chris Charpentier, Wendy Littlepage of the Denver Museum Of Miniatures, Dolls, And Toys, actor Evan Weissman, singer-songwriter Roger Green, and A.V. Club contributor/comedian Adam Cayton-Holland.
Next month’s theme will be announced via The Narrators’ Facebook, and if you have a story to share, you can contact Orvedahl at thenarrators3000@gmail.com.
