Just Announced Interpol gets dark and stuff at the Ogden

Interpol, band Will the new Interpol compare to the old Interpol?

More Just Announced

Interpol’s forthcoming fourth record is a return to former label Matador, a return to eponymous record titles, and—fingers crossed—a return to the form of albums the band put out on the label in the early ’00s. Unfortunately, the self-titled effort doesn’t mark the return of bassist and founding member Carlos Dengler (a.k.a. Carlos D), who, being the gothic little hedonist that he is, would’ve had a blast at the band’s newly announced Oct. 25 show at the Ogden Theatre. As is, there’s still plenty of seasonally appropriate darkness within the band’s stylish post-punk to suit its late October date, though it’ll be hard not to think about what outlandish costume Dengler would be wearing when the band launches into the climactic bass breakdown of “Not Even Jail.”
