KGNU's Dub Palace moves to Funky Buddha
Dub champion King Tubby
It looks like KGNU’s live radio program Dub Palace is uprooting once again. DJs Segue and Uplifter—who host one of only two weekly dub radio shows in the country—will now bring their chill sounds to the Funky Buddha Lounge the first Sunday of every month, starting this week. Beginning in 2008 at the Thin Man, the reverb-worshipping dub/dub-step/future-dub night eventually grew too big for the narrow bar, and last year prompted a move to the dank sanctuary of the Meadowlark. A new home at Funky Buddha—and hopefully use of its rooftop patio—should offer up some perfect spring nights for the vinyl sounds of Prince Jammy, Scientist, King Tubby, and more. Uplifter and Segue will also be kicking off Selecta’s Choice, a weekly Wednesday reggae showcase also at the Funky Buddha, starting tonight for you mid-week riddim riders.
