Acoustic guitars are usually reserved for use only by earnest singer-songwriters, self-satisfied neo-folkies, and heart-on-sleeve emo-pop types—but Leftmore isn’t any of those. Or maybe the Colorado Springs act’s a bit of all three. With “Fall,” off the just-released For Every Tree, A Seed, Leftmore shows off its new one-man lineup. (Joe Z remains as the lone member following the departure of, well, everyone else.) And though the acoustic guitars and emotional schlock are a bit reminiscent of Dashboard Confessional and the like, Leftmore manages to muster just enough spirit and energy to stand on its own as an unplugged production.
