Matt Morris is going to be on Ellen, details on his iPhone
Denver’s own ex-Mouseketeer Matt Morris has teamed up with another Mickey Mouse Club alum (the one who brought sexy back) for his debut full-length, When Everything Breaks Open. The soulful, folk-pop album—co-produced by Justin Timberlake and guitar legend Charlie Sexton—drops tomorrow, Jan. 12, and the national media blitz begins almost immediately: Morris appears this Friday, Jan. 15, on The Late Show With David Letterman, then the next day on CBS’s Second Cup Café, and continues his TV tour with a Jan. 19 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Morris grew up in Denver, but often joined his country-singer dad, Gary Morris, on the road and onstage as a kid. That led to a career writing songs for pop stars such as Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Reba McEntire, and yes, Timberlake. Let’s just hope that, unlike his fellow Mouseketeers, Morris’ rise to fame doesn’t include any assless chaps, halftime-show wardrobe malfunctions, or involuntary psych-ward holds.
