Max3 launches, gives away beer and rock
Max3: This is what the future looks like.
Adam Lancaster—Denver's own indie-rock Don King—has a new enterprise in the works, and he's willing to part with some hard-earned beer in order to tell you about it. The co-founder of Morning After Records (as well as the recently reunited local band Curious Yellow) is throwing a party Thursday at the Marquis Theater to launch his startup digital-media retailer, Max3. Besides having a captive audience for his capitalist brainwashing (seriously, though, Max3 sounds pretty awesome), Lancaster plans on standing in as the bassist of the emotive Denver group The Still City, which will warm up the Marquis's stage for hometown dance-punk heroes The Photo Atlas. Riding high on a four-star AP review of their upcoming, J. Robbins-produced EP To Silently Provoke The Ghost, the Atlas boys will also debut a new video at the show. And the kicker? If you RSVP here, you can skip the $8 cover AND partake of some free beer. Please note: Unlike most Marquis shows, Thursday's party is 21+. Sorry, kids.
