Mike Marchant EP release at the Meadowlark
Singer-songwriters are nothing if not prolific. (With no bandmates to answer to, what’s to stop an endless stream of guitar parts and woebegone lyrics except tired hands?) Denver’s Mike Marchant, frontman for the Widowers, will release yet another solo EP of spacey folk jams—see our interview with him last year—tonight at the Meadowlark with openers A. Tom Collins, John Common & The Blinding Flashes Of Light, and Ashley Raines. Marchant recorded the six new tracks between this “last summer and 4:37 p.m.” on Jan. 27 (the day Marchant e-mailed out the album release info), and the EP includes also guest spots from a few Widowers.
