Mike Marchant releases free collection of lost tracks

Mike Marchant

Mike Marchant continues his excellent habit of giving away his music with this week’s release of Lost And Found Sounds (2008-2011). The seven tracks of the release include a handful of demos, finished tracks that never made it onto a release, oddball experiments, and a Bad Weather California cover. Especially cool for the truly nerdy music nerd/Marchant fan are the detailed notes that you can find hidden behind the “info” button on each track at the comp’s Bandcamp home. Marchant acknowledges it’s probably not the best place to get acquainted with his work, but there’s definitely some interesting material there for fans. (Even if you are new to Marchant, it might be worth a download—it is free, after all.)

Marchant promises another collection of similar material if there’s interest. (Yes, please.) He also reports that he’s hard at work on the new Widowers album: a “baby-making record” full of dark, electronic psychedelia, which sounds lovely. There just aren’t enough electronic-psychedelic sex jams in the world, after all. In the meantime, enjoy the old stuff via the download link above or give it a quick once-over via the convenient embedded player below.
