After yesterday’s bleak announcement that the Monolith Festival is in some serious money trouble, the festival’s camp has now launched a full-fledged drive to save the three-year-old event. While major sponsorship is needed to keep the fest going—in an interview yesterday with the Denver Post, organizer Josh Baker revealed the fest is looking to fill a $250,000 hole—the group is asking fans to help raise an initial $38,000 to keep it afloat. In addition to a mass e-mail sent out to fans looking for needed funds, the team behind Monolith created The People’s Fund To Save Monolith where donations of any amount are being accepted through Dec. 3. In its short lifetime, Monolith has brought acts like The Kills, HEALTH, The Mars Volta, TV On The Radio, and Chromeo (its first-ever Colorado appearance) to Red Rocks for the epic early fall bash.
